I’m going to do my presentation about sleeping , im going to tell you something about the following subjects:
* Sleeping
* Slow wave sleep
* Deep sleep
* REM sleep
* how much do you need to sleep to feel good?

Sleeping

everyone knows that sleep is good for you. You get some rest and it gives you energy. But it also helps you process the information , that you gained the day before.
The evening before your Dutch test you go over the important things , but after a while your eyes will start to get heavy, you go to bed and before you know it you will be sleeping.
This is where it begins.

Slow Wave Sleep

The nightrest begins with the Slow Wave Sleep. The impressions of the day before will come up again, And will be stored in the cortex and the hippocampus. There will be proteïnsynthesis and the neurons and nervecells will be prepared for the final restingstage.In this stage the muscles will relax and the breathing will slow

Deep sleep

After the SWS begins the reststage that organises, labels , and categorises the information of the day before. This sleep is the deep sleep.

REM-Sleep

When the last stage of the night rest begins , the eyes will start to move very quickly. Most people experience this 3 to 5 times a night.This is called REM-sleep also called dreamsleep. REM means Rapid Eye Movement.
In the last REM-Sleep the memories will get stronger. This information will be stored in the long-term memory.
This will make your dream. If you would wake someone in this stage, the person can easily retell his dream. The REM stage takes up 25 % of the sleeping time. You must sleep at least 6 hours a night,but it is better to sleep a few hours more. Because you need the rem-sleep for a good night rest. If you sleep less its possible that you feel tired.Adults sleep an average 7,5 hours a night. One or two out of hundred persons only need 5 hours and just as many need double.

How much do you need to sleep to feel good?

Sleepingneeds and sleepingpatterns differ with age. Little baby´s, need 16 hours a day. With children the deepsleeps are longer than with adults. In every stage sleepproblems could occer. Children often have nightmares and often sleepwalk. Teenagers need more sleep, but they sleep less than they need. On adult age stress can disturb your sleep.
What if you would have continued studying and didn´t sleep enough, to finish the rem-sleep. your short term memory would be full with unorganised information. Your brains can´t connect with the information in the short term memory, there is chaos and you will fail your Dutch test. Sleep is one of the most important things for storing information.
It would be better to go to bed when you feel tired !
