The mole doesn’t like to clean his house anymore and he quits. He’s going outside and on the other side of the river he sees Mr. Rat. Mr. Rat crosses the river with his boat to pick up Mole. Its Moles first time in his life, he’s never been in a boat before. And they make a trip over the water. Mole is very happy and Rat explained a lot while they are one the boat. When they’re going to pick-nick they meet two friends of Rat. The Badger, the Beaver, the Frog and Mr. Toad are also on the river. On the end of the day asks Ratty Mole to stay the rest of the whit him. Mole agrees. The next day they’re going to Mr. Toad and he asked of they’ll make a trip in his car, but that wasn’t a good idea, because a car passed by and the car lost a wheel. The car capsized and the horse escaped.
The summer is over and it’s getting winter now. Mole was still by Ratty. Mole decided to visit Mr. Badger. It’s very cold and the most animals stay at home the whole winter. Than it starts to blow, it scares mole a little. Lucky enough Rat follows him, he’ll help seek Mr. Badger. They see not so much because it’s snowing. They find the way to Mr. Badger and he’s happy to see them again. The next day they’ve breakfast together, after the breakfast they’re going home. When they can’t find Rats home mole thinks about is own home and dings a hole. His house in not so big, but Ratty likes it very much. The fieldmouse passed by whit a choir and they’re singing Christmas songs.
Toad became a totally car freak and mole, Mr. Badger and Ratty they thought that they must do something about it, they put him in bed, but Toad escaped and he drives away whit the car of the doctor. He must go to court and he was accused of steeling, joy riding and telling lies to the police. He was send to jail for twenty years. He was send to the toughest guarded cell of England an there he realize he was very stupid and he didn’t eat anything. He cried big tears. The daughter form the Gardener likes animals and she felt sorry for him. She helped him whit a plan to escape and it works. He wants to go home by train but he doesn’t have the money for it. He pretend like he was an old woman and he may come in the train, but when he was home he got to do the laundry for the engine-driver. Bur they were followed by the police and Toad was telling the engine-driver everything. The engine-driver say’s he got to jump of the train after the tunnel and hide him self in the wood. And Toad does what the engine-driver sad and waits in the wood till the morning has come.Meanwhile Otters son is missed and everybody is helping to find him. Mole and Ratty Jump in the boat and try to find him there, they find him on an island where the protector of all the animals is playing on a flute for the sleeping otter. They take him with them. Toad came closer to his house and he saw a woman in a boat, and whit his sad story he can come in the boat and the woman gives him a lift. The woman finds out that he lies, she drops him out of the boat. Toad takes the horse of the woman and goes away, and he sells the horse and buys food from the money what they give him for the horse. And he goes fader by car. But when he jumps out of the car the police come after him again, he jumps in the river and he encounters Ratty, Mole and Badger. They’re glad to see him back and they figure out a plan to escape by an undergrounds road to Toads house. Toad organizes a party Whit songs and speeches from and about him. Toad promise that he’ll never brag again, and he sends presents to everyone who helped him and tanks Mole, Ratty and Badger.
