Questions ( James M. Cain – The postman always rings twice ) Would you’ve found the story better if it had ended differently?
No, I think it’s the perfect ending for this book. From the beginning till the end it’s a book full of stressing, hectic, incredible, mad and unrealistic scenes. When I read the end of the book, I expected it would end different. It were hard times for Frank and Cora in the most chapters of this book and I thought it would and differently because of this. Cora was pregnant and married with the love of her life Frank after the dead and separating with her old husband Nick. On the beach she didn’t feel well and Frank drove her to the hospital, where they finally didn’t end. Cora ended her life on a dangerous point on the highway because of Frank’s car accident. Frank was only a little hurt, but he lost his most important thing in life: Cora. After that he also had to go into jail, because he was on the both places of death of Nick and Cora. He never wanted to kill Cora, but he murdered Nick together with her. After some days Frank also get the punishment to be killed. To come back at the question: I won’t think it could end better. A nice end, just like in a fairytale, wouldn’t be a good end for this book. If it would end like a fairytale the ending would be too good and that would make the book quite boring. After reading this book I still thought about this end and how I would feel if this would happen to me. In my eyes it isn’t fear for Frank to murder him. May be it wasn’t good of him to kill Nick, but he did it for Cora because she was very unhappy with Nick. She wanted a husband who would tread her with respect, and in Cora’s eyes he didn’t do this. So my conclusion is: a perfect end for a nice book!
