Dear Miss Sijbesma,
How are you? Hope all is well with you and your family. I know I usually text you on your cellphone but this time I really have to tell you all about this book I’ve just finished reading. That’s my reason for writing you this letter.
The book is called Ranger’s Apprentice – The burning bridge. It is written by John Flanagan, an Australian writer. It’s the second book in a great serie of books, 12 books in total. I absolutely loved it. Great writing, never boring, a lot of action and real epic adventures! I also really liked the time setting of the book. Knights, archers, kings and barons really appeal to me. John Flanagan has done a great job really make you feel you’re a Ranger. The ‘’job’’ Ranger is also really interesting and I would love to be a Ranger. The life of a Ranger is full of danger and rough situations. But it’s a high rank and lots of people admire you. You are an official adviser of the king himself, you are master with bow and arrow and you are the leader of a whole group of heavily armed cavalry. And then you have Tug. Tug is a Ranger horse, those are really special. They’re well trained and a secret weapon of the Rangers. Will and Tug are two big friends and John wrote the book so that you feel connected in some way to the horse. There is also a big love story in this book. Will is an orphan and there is this girl called Alyss. She is an orphan and a diplomatic and a really good friend of Will. Will has feelings towards her but doesn’t want to tell her. Will makes it always really awkward when they meet, that is really funny. Horace, an orphan and an friend of Will is pushing Will to talk to Will but Will doesn’t want to do anything. Horace and Will get along pretty well in this book. Horace is in training to become a knight. Again, John Flanagan wrote the book so well that it can get emotional sometimes as a reader.
I would definitely recommend this book, to anyone. It’s a great book which never gets boring or anything. Ones you start reading you want to keep reading. It’s also nice that there are a ton of other books in this serie
