The maincharacters

Marianne she is a young girl who is living with her parent on a farm on a island with the name Tasca.She is working in the fishfactory on the island and she love’s to paint and she is good in it. Her dream is to be a famous painter and she try’s to sell her painting on the island.

David is a man working at the oilcompany he has a very inportant function. He works 9 months a year, and then he is three months free and then he go’s touring through the country.

Marianne’s father is a farmer who is working as a fisherman to get extra money. He is tired of being poor and he wants to do everything for an other job. He wants Marianne to get married.

Marianne’s mother is a quiet woman and she thinks that Marianne paints to much.

The story

The story is about Marianne, her father wants her to get married with a man of the village but she does not like him. One day when she is painting on the beach she hears a voice behind her, it is David. He likes her painting. They get into a conversation. From that day on they meet eachother on the beach each day and they fall in love.
At one day when Marianne is on the beach it is raining and she goes to a hole in a rock to wait there for David. When she sees the lamps of Davids motorcycle she runs to him.
Two men come out of the rock to get her but she jells to David an d the two men disappaer. When David and Marianne go to look where the men are they find nobody.
Marianne tells David about a man who came to the farm to buy the ground because there is oil in ground, David thinks it is strange because he knows nothing about it.
When she come’s home her mother asks where she was, Marianne says she was painting, and then her mother tells her she left the painting stuff at home. Then Marianne’s father gets mad he says she has to find a job but she doesn’t want to.
She has to take a job in the fishfactory. Because she can’t see David anymore, David thinks Marianne doesn’t want him anymore. He goes back to the mainland to the big city Malapa. Marianne gets a dream that she has to go to the mainland to follow David. She hides in a ship and there she finds menclothes. When the ship is in Malapa she puts on the menclothes and takes her backpack with paintings. When she is lifting a man wants to take her home and then she has to run for her live. After that two nice people take her to Malapa they are lawyer and his wife. The lawyer tells her she can call him always when she is in trouble. When she is in Malapa nobody wants to buy her paintings, and when she is sitting she hears a motor, it is David! They go back toTasca and when they are on the ship there is a oilplatform in serious trouble, sabotage. David helps them to get the criminal. When they get on Tasca at lost they take the man to the policestation and there he gets shot, the man is dead. In the end of the story they find out the criminil knew the stranger who wanted to buy the ground. It is the lawyer who is actualy realy mean. David and Marianne get married and everybody is happy. Marianne becomes a famous painter and they get three kids.
