b. The background to the story.

It all happens in The Big Apple, New York. Manhatten precicely.
Early nineties, I guess.

c. The genre to the story.

The genre to the story is horror. The book is vry realistic. As the matter in fact it could have happend in real life. ´Cause there really are some psycho´s in this world, maybe not such bad bad, they´re somewhere out there.

d. The characters.

The main chgaracters are Pat(rick) Bateman, Evelyn, Tim Pierce.
Pat Bateman :He is the main character. His outside is fine. Which means, he´s a good- looking man. To the rest of the world he is a decent, rich man. But inside he´s insane. He´s the American psycho.
Evelyn :She´s Pat´s girlfriend. She is pretty end rich. She only talks to the people who are just as rich as she is. All her friend, including Pat, are rich.
Tim Pierce :He is a friend of Pat´s. He is also rich, handsome and a bit arrogant to the less-wealthy people. Pat is suspecting that Evelyn is cheating on him, with Tim.

I would like to meet all of them, especially Craig, he seems nice. Not Pat, his urge to kill people may be so big that he would like to kill me. And I don´t want that. (duh!)

e. The title

The title is choosen very well, I would have called it the same way. It tells you a part of the story bij two words. If I had to say another title it would be: Patrick Bateman, American Psycho. But just American Psycho is better.

f. Your personal opinion.

It would be sick to say that I enjoyed reading this. I don´t like the kind of writing, jumping from one subject to another. I especially liked the fact that he didn´t mind who it was he killed. But I didn´t like the ending, he should be punished.
I do recommend this story to other people.

g. Give a summary of the story´s events.

The story is about Patrick Bateman (Pat). A rich, handsome, 26-year old man.
He works on Wallstreet ( so, earns big money), at the P&P office. His life seems to be perfect, he has a lot of friends and a handsome girlfriend, Evelyn. He can get any girl he´d like. He spends al lot of time with his friend, Tim Pierce. Although he suspect him of having an affaire with Evelyn. Being faithfull does not meen that much to Pat, he is cheating on Evelyn. He is sleeping with every girl he wants. Even Courtney, Evelyn´s best friend. Money is very important to Pat, he put´s a label on everything.
His life couldn´t be more perfect for a guy. And still he has this urge to kill and torture people. Sometimes he rents an hoocker and kills her, just for fun. Then his fun is done with people he doesn´t know. From then on he would also kill people he knows. He slays one of his friends, Paul Owen and his ex girlfriend, Battany. He does this for fun. After a while a detective comes to his office, to ask him some questions about Owen´s death. Owen´s girlfriend (meredith) had hired the detective. After some time the detective get´s to hear from someone from London that Paul Owen had been seen there. He leaves Pat alone.
Pat also has a secretary. She´s head over heals in love with Pat. He takes advanage of that fact. When his friends cancel a dinner, he calls her to meet. Just because he´s bored.
In the end of the story he breakes up with Evelyn. She doesn´t really have a personality, he didn´t see that untill now.

h. Optional assigment

(Pat is sleeping)
He dreams of his friends.There´s a party, a bithday party. It´s Evelyns party. Everybody is dancing on top of the World Trade Centre. They are having a lot of fun. Then the music stops. Everyone is looking at Pat now. He starts to feel imbarrest and uncompfortable. They all make a line of people, still staring at Pat. Then a helicopter lands on teh building. Bettany and Paul jump out of it. They are walking straight on to Pat. He feels his hart beat louder and louder. Then Paul says: “You didn´t really think can kill us, did you?” Pat keeps it quiet. Then everyone start to laugh loudly. “ But now you will be punished for trying” said Bettany.
The the line of 30 people, started to walk in Pat´s direction. He has two feet ahead himself of groud under his feet. He starts to yell… and thats when he wakes up, hole sweaty.
